Two barriers stand between a senior and the dentist. Vera Dental Profiling Camps removes both.

Getting to a clinic, and paying once you're there. For a resident in a senior community, each is hard enough to make the dentist the easiest appointment to skip. Vera brings the dentist on-site — and bills insurance direct.

The gap

For a senior, seeing a dentist isn't one problem. It's two.

Neither barrier is anyone's fault. Both are built into how dental care is delivered and paid for. Together, they make routine dental the easiest thing in a senior's calendar to let go.

BARRIER 01 · GETTING THERE

Transportation

A dental clinic might be five minutes away or fifty — it doesn't matter. A mobility-limited resident needs transport arranged, an escort, a wheelchair-accessible vehicle, and a schedule that satisfies both the clinic and the community. It's a full production for one cleaning. And in much of the country, the nearest dentist is genuinely far: 63.7 million Americans live in a federally designated dental care shortage area.

BARRIER 02 · PAYING FOR IT

Cost & coverage

Original Medicare covers $0 of routine dental — no cleanings, no exams, no fillings. Nearly half of all Medicare beneficiaries have no dental coverage of any kind. So before an appointment even exists, there's out-of-pocket cost and insurance friction to clear.

$0
What falls away first is the cheapest, most preventable layer — screenings, consultations, cleanings. Not because anyone decided it didn't matter, but because the friction made it the easiest thing to skip. A missed cleaning becomes a lost tooth. A skipped screening becomes an infection. Small, preventable problems quietly become big ones.

The bridge Vera builds

Vera Dental Profiling Camps brings the dentist to the community.

A two-day on-site camp delivers the preventive care the system makes hardest to reach. For anything bigger, Vera doesn't hand over a referral slip and walk away — it connects residents to the right specialist and assists them through the process. Here's the honest scope of what Vera does, and what it brokers.

Vera delivers, on-site

The preventive layer

The routine maintenance that catches problems while they're still small — performed on the unit, at the community, by a state-licensed clinical team.

  • Oral screening & exam
  • Consultation & treatment planning
  • Digital X-rays where indicated
  • Professional cleaning
Vera refers & assists

Major & restorative needs

When a resident needs more than preventive care, Vera connects them to a suitable specialist — and stays with them through scheduling, coverage, and coordination.

  • Dentures & partials
  • Implants
  • Restorative & oral surgery
  • Specialist referral + hands-on assistance
Inside the unit

A real clinic — at the community's front door.

Not a van with a chair. A full clinical operatory: screening, X-rays, consultation, and cleaning, delivered on-site by a state-licensed team.

A platform, not a van

Vera Dental Profiling Camps connects three sides that the gap kept apart.

It isn't only a mobile clinic. It's the operating layer where senior communities, dentists, and residents finally meet — each side getting the thing the old way couldn't give them.

For the resident

Care, where they already live

No transport to arrange, no out-of-pocket surprise. The screening, consultation, and cleaning happen on-site — and for bigger needs, Vera walks them to a specialist. Access, quality, and affordability — solved.

For the senior community

The overhead, removed

Instead of arranging dental for residents one at a time — chasing transport, coverage, and providers — the community hands the whole need to Vera. One relationship. Every resident covered.

For the dentist

Patients found, front desk absorbed

Vera brings the patients and takes the administrative load — scheduling, intake, pre-screening, billing coordination. The dentist shows up and treats. Vera runs everything around it.

How a camp works

From face sheets to finished cleanings — five steps.

Every camp is pre-screened before the unit ever rolls. That's the difference between a busy clinical day and an empty one.

The dental gap, measured in the state Vera runs in.

Vera Dental Profiling Camps has operated across Florida since 2023. Florida is also one of the most dentally underserved states in the country — which is exactly why the camp model exists here first. The numbers below are public federal data plus Vera's own operating record.

Assembly to field

Built in 2023. Paused on purpose. Re-engineered to scale.

Vera Dental Profiling Camps didn't rush. The break after the first field run wasn't a stall — it was the window to launch the senior community operator vertical, and to rebuild the camp process for the whole country.

Assembly

Paused, on purpose

Vera shifted focus to launching its senior community operator vertical. The pause also became the chance to re-engineer the camp process — so it could scale across the USA, not just Florida.

Common questions

What administrators and families ask us first.

Straight answers to the questions that come up before every camp.

Does Medicare cover mobile dental care for seniors?

Original Medicare does not cover routine dental — no cleanings, exams, or fillings. Many residents do have some coverage through a Medicare Advantage plan, or, for emergencies, Medicaid. Vera bills whatever coverage applies directly, under Vera Healthcare Florida LLC. The community is never billed for the care.

What does a Vera Dental Profiling Camps visit cost the community?

There are no facility fees, no contract minimums, and no per-resident charges. Insurance is billed direct. All the community provides is a parking spot and a power hookup for the unit — plus help pre-screening residents.

How does a dentist actually come to a senior community?

Vera Dental Profiling Camps is a full mobile clinical operatory — not a van with a chair. The unit parks on-site at the community for a two-day camp, and residents are seen in their familiar environment, with no transportation to arrange and no clinic visit to coordinate.

What happens for residents who need dentures, implants, or major work?

Vera delivers the preventive layer on-site: screening, consultation, digital X-rays, and cleaning. When a resident needs more — dentures, implants, restorative or oral surgery — Vera connects them to a suitable specialist and assists through scheduling, coverage, and coordination. The support doesn't end at the camp.

How are residents pre-screened before a camp?

Before any camp is scheduled, the community uploads resident face sheets to the Vera portal. Vera reviews each resident's coverage and dentition so the camp day is productive — and so no resident is seen who shouldn't be.

Is the clinical team licensed and HIPAA-compliant?

Yes. Vera Dental Profiling Camps runs with state-licensed dentists and hygienists, HIPAA-compliant intake, and protocols aligned to state senior-care regulations. A Business Associate Agreement is available to every community on request.

How long does a camp take, and where does Vera operate?

A camp runs two days — Day 1 is the dentist (screening, consultation, X-rays); Day 2 is the hygienist (cleanings). Vera Dental Profiling Camps operates across Florida, from the Panhandle to South Florida, with the model built to scale to senior communities nationwide.
